About Me

Welcome to the Devon & Somerset Master Thatcher Website. I have over 15 years experience of thatching a wide range of buildings.
After leaving school it wasn’t long before I fell in love with the idea of becoming a Thatcher. So after finding a job as a labourer with a Master Thatcher, I started my journey.
I rapidly progressed and learnt different styles of thatching, working on both domestic and commercial projects throughout Devon, Somerset, Wales and abroad. Thatching a variety of buildings from pubs, restaurants, new build homes, barn conversions, national trust properties, wedding venues, aviaries, dove cots, porches, summer houses, tree houses including a luxury tree house in Greece and even a medieval film set, just to name a few. Hundreds of individual jobs each requiring unique styles and facing different challenges.
After about 10 years I went on to work with various other Thatcher’s across Dartmoor and Exmoor developing my skills and range of thatching styles.
